Our July 4th Weekend Recap.

I know I am a tad bit late with this...

We went to my mom's for a BBQ and to watch the fireworks.  See my mom's lives the closest to the Delaware Bay, which is where our town sets off their fireworks.  We do this every year...the only year I missed is when we lived in West Virginia...back in 2004.

First we replaced our toilet. No we didn't have intentions on doing it but it seems that one little boy decided to flush teeth flossers down it.  Seem like this little boy also have to pick mine....and Little Shawn's.  The little boy being LOGAN!!!

_MG_5344  And well since Shawn checked the pipes under the house...and had already taken the toilet out of the bathroom....we decided to replace it. So we did.

But for some reason....Shawn was not satisfied with just replacing the toilet.  He added another water faucet to the right side of the house....which is the side we use the most.  He also decided to replace the ceiling fan in the boys room.

_MG_5345 This we definitely need to do.  We could only keep it on low because if it went any higher....it would sound like it was going to take off. LOL!!  And his "boredness" didn't end their either!

_MG_5355 He changed the switch too.  Now the boys can turn on their light and fan without having to climb up on their beds.  It is a whole heck of a lot safer too!

Oh and remember that useless closet that we had in our kitchen....the one that held a water conditioning system that didn't work...

_MG_5360 He took that out too!_MG_5363 See there is the little one that decided to flush my teeth flosser down the toilet!_MG_5383 And no one wants to hel0p Dad unless they can destroy something.  And in that case...we must do it wearing only our boxer shorts and flip flops.  These boys crack me up.  They hear me say "break up the drywall" and they are all over it.  They actually did every piece!

_MG_5398Then the ugly 1970s paneling came down too. That is when we realized that the previous homeowner...wasn't all that handy.  See that dark brown stuff....its glue. They glued up the paneling. _MG_5410 So we now had to mud the walls with drywall mud to fill in the spots from the nail holes and glue.

I caught this above shot of Logan and Shawn while we were taking a break.  This boy wants nothing else in the entire world than to be just like his Dad.  He watches, soaks in, and then does everything that his dad does or says!  He is happy as can be when the two of them are outside building something, or fixing something, or just hanging out.  Sometimes, Shawn has to watch because if he stops too fast....the boy will literally get stuck.  Logan will do anything that he does. Logan will say anything that he does...which at times is not good. And Logan will go anywhere that he goes.  We sometimes call him the Mini Me.  But ya know, I am glad that he is this way.  Little Shawn is more like me.  I am proud that Logan looks up to his Dad and wants to be the man that his Daddy is.

_MG_5428 And finally, Little Shawn tried out for the local football team.  Big Shawn and him have been working together to sharpen his skills...which was pretty easy considering he had never played football before.  So Shawn and him would go outside and pass and catch and Shawn Sr would have little Shawn running and doing all sorts of stuff.  I am glad that they were able to do something together that they both like.  I am just still a little unsure how Little Shawn is going to like playing football.  But he knows that if he starts it....he must finish out the season...even if he doesn't like it.  Then if he decides that he doesn't want to play....then that is ok.

So that is a recap of how our 4th Holiday through Thursday had been!  I will try to post some of the layouts and such that I have made in a day or so.

Your husband and my husband could totally do a number on some unsuspecting house...
:)
Seriously! It's like he and David suffer from the same
must-fix-something-tear-down-something-update-something-patch-something-replace-something-disorder! LOL!

Sure is great, though, being married to a guy like that...
Most of the time...
;)
