Shawn plays safety and is on the receiving and special teams. We lost. The score was 6 to 14, I believe. They played great game. Shawn was excited! That is until he saw the size of the other team's players. Check out #77. It took three of our players to get him on the ground. Keep in mind that these are 3rd and 4th graders. Shawn said he "patted" him on the back and he almost fell on the ground!
This boy was the same height as one of our coaches! This also got me thinking.....what are they feeding these boys! LOL! I asked my sister about the team my nephew played...she said the same thing! The other teams' players are so much bigger than our kids.
Shawn did get in on his first "pile up" as I called it. He didn't actually tackle a player, he kind of kneeled on him. Here is the photo below. He is the one facing right kneeling.
And a self portrait of him. We were standing by the field waiting for our game to start. I gave it an old style finish. His hair reminds me of a 70s era do.
We have another game on Sunday in Ocean City, NJ. This week so far at practice, they have been working on their tackling.
And I will leave you with a new layout to look at too.
