Yup it is that time of the year. I had conferences with both of the boys’ teachers.
Shawn’s Teacher:
Says that Shawn is a very creative kid. He can make up stores in writing that are well above the rest of the class. She said that they had an assignment to write a short story about a dog. While the rest of the class was writing things like “The dog’s name is Spot. He is brown. etc." Shawn story involved aliens landing on the dogs house. His teacher also said that he had a quirky personality and that he is very comfortable in his own skin. This made me really happy. I know there are a few kids that get embarrassed easily. I didn’t want my kids to be that way. Shawn is also color-blind….but with only certain shades of colors. Shawn also has eyelashes that are two totally different colors. One is white and the other is brown. He likes this about himself. He has always said that he likes being different. She had also said that his grades weren’t bad but she knows he could do better. He knows he could do better and I do as well. I am so proud of him for understanding that he is capable of better things. And that he has set goals for himself on his own to work towards.
Logan’s Teacher:
Says that Logan was a live wire. Full of energy. And once you get him going…there is no stopping him.
Yup that’s my Logan. The wheels in this boys head just never stops turning…ever. He comes home and fills a notebook with drawings and then writes what the drawing are of. He loves school…and I never thought that would be possible. Last year, he hated it. I mean really hated it. Cried when it was time to leave. Didn’t want to go type thing. Now, he can’t wait to leave to catch the bus. She also said that he is having a bit of trouble with his speech. Not something I am that surprised about. After all he has a mom and has a NJ accent to some and a dad that has a southern accent. So I am sure there will be some issues with his speech. He can write his first and last name….and his Gs are the cutest things.
All and all I am glad that I have these two totally different personalities as children. What would like be if everyone was the same!
