Cracked Sternum

This boys spent a few hours in the emergency room yesterday. While playing on the playground at the local rec center, he fell of the slide….at the top no less….which is about an 8 ft drop….and landed on his side. So we rushed him up to the ER to get checked out. His only injury was a cracked sternum, that was closed, and will heal on its own.  He is limited to what he can do. Poor kid has to sleep on the couch because it hurts him to lay flat in his bed.

The scary part of it was that I saw him fall. I knew he was hurt when he wouldn’t get up. He was laying there on his stomach crying. Little Aaron had to help pick him up so he could walk Logan over to me.  All Logan wanted to do was lay down. When I got to him, he was crying. He ended up having the wind knocked out of him and that scared the crap out of him and me as well. Once he was able to calm down, he started to feel better. By the time we went into X-Ray, he was almost him normal self...aside from the pain. He is on tough guy!
