And boy is he proud of himself! It took him a year to do it…but he is finally doing it!
I knew he could do it. He just had to try….but the boy didn’t have the patience to work at it. Little by little he would try get mad because he couldn’t do it and then stop. So one night right before football…..meaning as we are walking out to get into the truck…I told him to try it on the street…since he was trying to ride it in the grass. Well wouldn’t you know it took right off! So off to football we went with the bike so he could ride it. At first he had trouble starting out and with some help from Mom {ME} he got it. He would say cottage cheese when he wanted me to hold on to the bike so he could start. Then he would say cheese touch when he wanted me to let go. So after about an hour of this, I just leaned down and said ok and he took off on his own! So no more cottage cheese or cheese touch, which I have no idea where he got anyway! So for 2 1/2 hours he rode the bike.
Sadly, we rear end was a bit sore the next day!
I guess we will have to look at getting new bikes. Logan loves the bike in the photo, but its Little Shawn’s bike. He got it for his birthday when he first learned how to ride on two wheels from my youngest brother. But the bike is now getting too small for Shawn. Logan has two bikes. Both are way too small for him. We told him that if he learned to ride on two wheels he could get another bike……………….so we will see…..maybe Santa will bring them!
