After a case ended badly for Special Agent Rebecca Carson, she has been going stir-crazy sitting around her condo waiting for her superiours at the FBI to allow her to return back to work. Since she was a teenager, she had wanted to be an FBI agent....now that dream is being threatend.
As a professional football player in Nashville, , Gage Daniels is use to getting anything he wants and women are no exception. His confidence and smile is all it usually takes. When a stalker threatens Gage, Team Owner, Timothy Donovan, calls in his old friend and Rebecca's ex=partner, Travis Hansen, to help protect his star quarterback and find this stalker. Hansen offers Rebecca the job, which she takes. It;s work and it will get her out of her condo. Posing as Gage's girlfriend, however, wasn't what she had in mind. Rebecca must work to protect Gage while fending off his advances. She is there to do a job, and not to be be another notch on a hotshot athlete's bedpost. As the stalker's behavior escalates, Rebecca finds it harder and harder to keep her distance from Gage. He isn't at all what she expected.
Gage always though he had everything he wanted...A nice house, a career he loves. But when Donovan brings in Rebecca to pose as his girlfriend to protect him from a stalker, he finds he is up for the challenge. He is also intrigued with Rebecca. As the stalker takes a shot at him, he realizes just how helpless he is in this situation. He starts worrying not for his own safety but for that of Rebecca's.
Sherri Hayes writes a great story! RED ZONE is the second book in the series but I had no problem following along.
