She got together with a variety of different artists in the scrapbooking and mixed media industries and put together a daily blog post for the month of January on how these artists got past their creative blocks or lack of mojo as some call it.
I have to say that I LOVED it. There are new things that I did learn. And found a lot of different ways to jump start my creativity. I try to do a daily exercise, which for what works for me that an art journal. My art journal is a little bit of everything. Sometimes its journaling something on the page...and creating layers of paint and ink and other drawings to cover it up like this page:
Sometimes it was a quote that I saw or read somewhere that I wanted to save so I created a page just for it by using some inks, masks, stencils, or misting screens. Like this one:
And sometimes I come across an extra photo that I had laying around that has already ended up on a layout but I still just can't get rid of. So it too becomes a page in the art journal...like this one:
This book I try to do something in before I start anything. It may be just writing the journaling. Or painting the background. Or even having and idea for a stencil. I also use this book to try out some new techniques that I have seen or even something that I had and idea first. That way if it doesn't come out the way I like it...I can easily paint over the entire page and start over or even make something else with it.
