Centuries ago, their ship crashes to Earth. Incubi, Sirens, Vampires, Valkyerie, Faeries, and were-creatures of all types settled secretly into the human world. They became self ruling and careful to stay under the radar from human knowledge.
In this second book of the series, Lorin Schlessinger, Valkyrie archaeologist unearths a cryptic box which is believed to be the beacon from Captain Noah Pritchard's ship, The Arkpaedis. Upon accidentally opening the box, Lorin sends a signal that draws attention to Earth and its treasured national resources.
Gabe Lupinsky, werewolf geologist is now assigned to work with Lorin on the Isabella dig site. Elliott assures Lorin that he needs an hour by hour visibility into the dig site. Lorin knows that what she lacks in administrative skills, Gabe more than makes up for. But she still can't help feeling like Gabe's presence is more punishment than help. As the threat of their discoveries heighten, so does the extreme attraction for each other.
Tamara Hogan writes a great novel. Since I had not read the first novel, I was a little bit lost as to what and why things mentioned were important. However, I wasn't too lost to not be able to following the storyline in this novel.
